Graves, Worms and Epitaphs by J. W. Kerr
Synopsis
In Graves, Worms and Epitaphs, Lieutenant Anson Hilderbrand is again confronted with evil. This time it takes on an especially depraved shape, preying upon the most innocent. Hilderbrand's hunt begins when he is called to a crime scene and finds his closest friend and fellow officer, Herman Rathke, has been murdered under extremely strange circumstances. The search for Herman's killer takes him to the streets of Los Angeles where he discovers that the real source of evil is a mansion in Houston. The climax finds Lt. Hilderbrand confronted with the moral dilemma of whether revenge and justice can be one and the same thing.
