The Depths of Thought
Synopsis
What strange currents move in The Depths of Thought,
asks novelist Allen C. Locklin. How can a person dream vividly of a padded cell that he has never seen - a dream where someone else has
absorbed his entire identity?
What happens when a mental patient, Tom Currie, escapes
to claim the wife and children and even the life that belongs to geologist Kevin Monahan?
Set in East Texas, in the oil industry, the story follows the lives
of Kevin and his shadowy, catatonic double to a climax when Tom, partially cured, bursts in on Kevin's life, convinced that he is reclaiming his
own, and, in a strange twist, the two share in a significant event in the oil business.
Filled with labyrinthine twists and turns, The Depths of
Thought is an original and absorbing novel.
